The people behind Houndry.
Meet the Houndry team, the partners and operators who guide our best-in-class brands.
Josh has spent more than two decades in pet care, founding and running his own companies before joining Houndry as a partner in 2018. Today, as CEO, he works with new businesses as they join the platform and helps guide the company's growth, team, and long-term direction.
A co-founder of Houndry, John takes the lead in working with owners who are thinking about selling or transitioning their business. His focus is understanding a company and its people well enough that the next chapter is right for both sides, not just on paper.
A co-founder of Houndry, David works closely with John on business valuation, due diligence and helps structure each acquisition. As Houndry's resident attorney, he oversees the legal side of every deal and helps keep transactions moving from first conversation through closing.
Katie leads operations across Houndry's brands, working closely with managers and leadership teams throughout the company. Before joining Houndry, she founded Windy City Paws and later joined the leadership team following its acquisition, bringing both an owner's perspective and an operator's experience to the role.
Jamie leads Houndry's Chicago operations, working closely with managers and local teams across the region. Having joined Houndry through the Windy City Paws acquisition, she helps new brands navigate the transition and settle into life at Houndry.
Brian leads Houndry's New York operations, overseeing MixyPaws and Brooklyn Bark. After joining Houndry through the MixyPaws acquisition, he took on increasing responsibility and now leads the company's New York operations.
Manny is often one of the first people owners meet when exploring a partnership with Houndry. He also helps guide newly acquired businesses through onboarding and works across the company on special projects and improvements.
Shannon works with teams across Houndry to identify what's working, solve recurring challenges, and share successful ideas between brands. She joined Houndry through the Windy City Paws acquisition and now works across the organization helping teams learn from one another and solve problems more effectively.
An experienced operator and former owner of Urban Tailz, Carine leads Houndry's outreach, so don't be surprised to hear from her. She loves building relationships with owners, even those just starting to think about exit planning. Since selling to Houndry in 2023, she's always glad to share what she's learned.
